I’ve been driving a Saturn SC3, but it’s burning oil and I need something reliable. And I’ve noticed that Kia’s are dissed but my brother owns a Spectra and he can just plow that little car through snow when my little Saturn always gets stuck. I am looking at options. I make $10 an hour, so the sky is not really the limit. I am looking for a car that makes good economical sense and will probably buy it used certified if and when either my other debts are paid off or my cars engine catches on fire and the insurance company writes me a check. I’m just tired of running to have my car worked on 3 times a year for whatever random thing happens to go wrong.

STEPHAN

It is a very nice car and i looked at it and the owner looks like he spent a lot of time on it. When i checked it out i met him at the body shop he worked at. He said he bought it damaged and had it fixed up in the body shop for way less than going through insurance and thats why it has a rebuilt title. The car is in very good shape. I need to know some of the things to look for such as vin numbers with different parts, and how exactly to transfer the title if i purchase it without getting jipped.

SHERRY

Todd M asked:

I just bought a newer used car from 2005 at the toyota dealer and I got the loan through them. I bought the car for $12,800 total with taxes and I put $2,000 dollars down when I bought it. So now I owe about $11,000 on it. I would like to sell it to a friend for $12,000 and make back about a $1,000 on it. This way I’ll only end up loosing the $800. He doesn’t have enough money so he would have to take out a loan from somewhere himself, but I think he has good credit.

Anyway, the problem is that I don’t have the title since the car isn’t paid off yet and I owe the dealer money, not a bank, since the loan was taken out through them. What are the steps I have to take to sell this car to my friend who is also short on cash himself, but still has good credit?

Also, how hard would it be to sell this car to a stranger if my friend decides to back out of it since I don’t have the title?
What about selling it to CarMAX? I heard that they take care of all the financial mumbojumbo for you.

MADGE
